1. Papa Don’t Preach
It was a sunny Sunday afternoon and a client had booked us for a Love Story photo session for him and his partner. The plan was for the photographer to come with them on their walk along the Embankment but we soon found out that this was not the only thing he had in mind… He had previously asked his parents to assist him in surprising her with a proposal! After the couple had walked for a while in the sunshine and captured some lovely images with our photographer, he took out a pair of binoculars he had brought and prompted her to look over to the other side of the river. There his parents were standing, holding a big “will you marry me” sign. Friends and family were waiting in the area and were given the signal to come over to congratulate the couple with flowers, balloons and presents.
2. Undercover Shooter
The only way one of our clients could think of making it a true surprise for his fiancee was to have the hired photographer hiding in the bushes of Hyde Park, where he planned to take her, to secretly capture the moments before the proposal unfolded. Naturally, he was nervous about asking us if we could accommodate for such a request but we were happy to help! Our photographer was set up in a prime spot and ready to photograph the couple when they started to become in view. As the client dropped to one knee, our photographer emerged from the bushes and shot the whole moment, as planned, then continued to shoot a wonderful Love Story photo session in the park afterwards.
3. Kyoto Passion
We got a message from a client who had been planning his proposal for a long time. The proposal was going to be a complete surprise for his fiancee and so he needed our photographer to be inconspicuously shooting the moments before and after, in order to capture the full story. He planned to take his fiancee to the Kyoto Garden in Holland Park for a ‘romantic walk’ before heading to Kensington high-street for dinner. Our photographer hid out of view, behind a wall to capture candid shots the couple walking, chatting, laughing and smiling. Once the proposal was made our photographer moved towards the couple to shoot the moments after. The client and his fiancee were delighted with how the photos turned out and they were able to share them with their friends and families straight from their own private online gallery.
4. Tourist Tenderness
A few months ago, one of our clients was visiting London for a holiday with his fiancee but he wanted to make this holiday extra special. He had planned his surprise proposal well in advance; from what he was going to be wearing to the perfect locations in Hyde Park for our photographer to hide. He wanted every moment prior, during and after the proposal to be documented. We obliged and then shot a 2-hour romantic photo session for the joyful couple following the proposal. The client was over the moon with the result as he was able to share them with their families who weren’t able to be physically present to celebrate with them at the time.
5. Beating the Blues
On a cold winters afternoon in January this year one of our clients had booked a table at the Connaught Hotel for him and his fiancee to have drinks – little did she know that date night would turn into a proposal! Because he wanted the proposal to remain a surprise for his fiancee, we were hired to shoot the moments prior at the hotel – in disguise! Once the proposal was proposal was captured, our photographer made herself known and went along with the couple to Nobu London, where their families were waiting and shot a session with them all celebrating the engagement.
