Deamed "The largest tech conference in the world”, WebSummit is any tech enthusiasts dream. Since being founded in 2014, it’s attendee list has grown to an impressive 60,000+, press attending has increased to 2,600+ and it’s global growth has reached to 170+ countries. The confernece gets all the big names in tech to speak each year, ranging from the CEO of, Werner Vogels to the CEO of Intel, Brian Krzanich.


Startups from all over the world apply to be a part of the annual event and those who are fortunate enough to exhibit enjoy the benefits of being in the company of some of the industry’s most influential thought-leaders, whilst taking part in workshops, discussions and ‘Startup University’.



The marketing team at WebSummit wanted to be able to offer a more complete service to the startups that pay for places at the event and improve their customer experience. They also wanted to build brand awareness and create a buzz online on the day. To do this, they needed high-quality content which could be used across their online and offline communication channels to supplement their PR and marketing campaigns during and after the event. Full professional photography coverage was needed, including photos of exhibitors’ stands, media wall and ‘hotspot’ coverage. They aimed to increase their sponsor ROI and attendee engagement, both online and offline.



We captured high-quality photos of 1,700 startups and their stands, edited them and made them available to view, download and use from individual online galleries the same day. The online galleries are specifically designed to make it fast and simple to download, share and use the photos for online, offline use. We created an online database containing all 200 of the galleries so that the startups could search to find their photo galleries and use the photos, free of charge. We also provided highlights of the event and made the content available the next day in a shared online gallery for attendees, organisers, marketing teams and press attending. In total, over 600 attendees were photographed at the Media Wall and 16 speakers captured on the stage. We delivered 1,100 photos and edited more than 3,200 of them, all delivered within 48 hours.



Splento has counted more than 11,000 visitors to our online galleries and over 2,870 photo downloads. The event hashtag: #WebSummit2015, containing our photos, was mentioned 241,000 times on social media during the event. 42,000 attendees from 130 different countries have viewed the photos
