The Rainmaker Foundation exists to catalyse the emergence of a supportive, startup-style ecosystem that will accelerate the impact of small charities with great potential. They run a 6-month curriculum and mentor-driven accelerator programme designed to provide a safe space for small charities to engage with disruptive thinking, to innovate their organisation, access best in class technology tools from the commercial sphere and to amplify their impact. They do this by engaging a community of entrepreneurs, social innovators, charity sector experts, authors, relationship builders and investors who have come together to challenge the status quo within the charity sector. These are their Rainmakers.

 

AIMS

We carry out free pre-shoot consultations with all of our clients who want them. During the Rainmaker Foundation’s CEO, Cosmina Popa’s consultation, we found out that the organisation had been using an agency who supply student photographers to cover the event that they host and contribute to throughout the year. Photography was needed for an event earlier this year and when there was limited availability at the agency, the foundation’s CEO, Cosmina Popa contacted us. The organisation continuously need fresh content for their website, internal newsletters, social media and other marketing content and find that the events they run are the perfect opportunity to capture the people and activity of the brand. Their wider aims are promoting their charity accelerator programmes and team member opportunities to prospective Rainmakers in the easiest, most cost-effective way possible.

 

EXECUTION

We covered 2 events for Rainmaker Foundation, providing professional photography for 2 hours at each one. We thoroughly briefed and prepared our photographer on how he could make the most out of the time he had at each event to ensure we created on-brand content for the foundation to use both offline and online and for other marketing materials. We wanted to deliver Cosmina exactly what she was hoping for, we took more than 300 photos during the 4 hours in total, 120 were carefully selected and edited by our in-house retouching team. We delivered the finished photos to Cosmina’s very own private online gallery in 48-hours, as we do with every one of our client’s as standard. The galleries are specifically designed to make downloading, printing and sharing the photos fast and easy, complete with share-to-social buttons.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS

Rainmaker Foundation were pleased with the results and plan to use the photos for their website, internal newsletter, a summary of events email to funders and partners, social media and other marketing content. When we caught up with Cosmina, she mentioned that although many charities hire event suppliers through recommendations, it can be very frustrating going through ‘friends of friends’ all the time. However, she found Splento “refreshingly easy” to use and thought that the 24-hour delivery option and “awesome” customer service were two great assets of our service. Also, the cost of our photography was a lot less than their normal photographers. Since the event, Cosmina has booked us again and has been recommending us to other charities in their cohort.
